First Monday Trade Days may be a popular event in East Texas, but that isn't stopping hundreds of thousands of people from traveling to The city of Canton for four days every month. They are open from Thursday until sunday, preceding the day of First Monday every month hundreds of vendors will set up shop for hundreds of shopping opportunities.


It was first introduced more than century ago as flea markets has now become home to some latest, most thrilling, high-tech home furnishings, antiques and collectibles found anywhere. In the last 150 years, many things have changed at The Original First Monday Park; however, the genuine, intimate human connections between vendors and customers is the reason why people stay back.

September 30th-October 3rd


October 28th - October 31st


December 2nd - 5th



According to page on First Monday Trade Days website It is the oldest and biggest constantly operating outdoor flea market on the United States.


According to people who frequent this market, idea is that First Monday Trade Days started way back in 1850. the circuit judge was able to make a trip to Canton on the First Monday of every month. Everyone from across the county would travel to Canton to take part in court cases. In  first monday trade days , residents would bring their own personal items, be it be produce, livestock as well as other objects of origin, to trade or sell. Then in 1965, First Monday outgrew the town's Town Square so it was moved to the current location. And the rest is history...


First Monday Trade Days is comprised of a wide range of private sellers so odds are that no matter how many times you've been to the market there, you'll never get to see it all. The flea-market is situated on hundreds of acres and more than 700,00 square feet of space for shopping.


Participating in First Monday is free, but the majority of the parking garages that surround the trade areas charge $5 to park.
